PCTEL brings new dual 4G LTE antenna with MIMO technology

PCTEL today announced its new dual 4G LTE antenna incorporating MIMO technology to support high data rates for wireless communications such as fleet management, asset tracking, and public safety applications.

The announcement was made at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE). It also includes high rejection GPS and dual-band MIMO WiFi (802.11n) in a single compact housing.

LTE MIMO technology, which supports high mobile data rates, uses multiple and spatially-differentiated antennas to maximize throughput.

PCTEL’s new antenna has an advanced RF engineering design and adds Wi-Fi and GPS L1 support. A high rejection GPS LNA assembly enables location tracking services while mitigating interference from nearby RF radiating sources. The company said the antenna’s low profile, single-housing design simplifies installation and streamlines the product footprint to address space and aesthetic requirements.

Jeff Miller, president of PCTEL Connected Solutions, said: “With this new dual LTE model, we can provide our customers with a single easy-to-install solution for everything from commuter rail WiFi to real time data and video streaming for emergency response communications and other commercial fleet applications.”
