Overture
Networks, a Carrier Ethernet solutions provider, and Integra Telecom, a
provider of business grade networking, communications and cloud solutions,
announced the deployment of Overture’s Ethernet-over-Copper (EoC) technology as
part of Integra’s expansion of its Ethernet Services product portfolio.
The
integration of Overture’s solution will provide Integra greater Carrier
Ethernet accessibility, at a considerably lower per-megabit cost, to some
400,000 customers, while delivering an extremely high quality and scalable
network solution for voice, video, data and internet.
Integra
places a high premium on exceeding customer expectations and providing the
highest quality products, and we leverage best-in-class technology platforms to
do it,” said Craig Heidgerken, Integra’s VP of Corporate Engineering.
Integra selected Overture Networks as a key partner based on the
ease-of-use, quality and reliability of its leading edge EoC solutions, as well
as its demonstrated commitment to superior service and support. Overture is a
natural fit for Integra.
Integra,
which currently provides EoC in 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 megabits per second (Mbps)
increments, will be raising its symmetrical bandwidth offerings to 100 Mbps, an
increase facilitated entirely by this latest deployment of Overture’s
solutions.
The move will
also accelerate the company’s commitment to Carrier Ethernet as its transport
method of choice.
Overture’s
best-of-breed EoC solutions are the ideal complement to Integra’s existing
fiber network – integrating these platforms into its network will result in
increased overall market reach and faster time to service, bringing significant
added value to its customers,” said Kevin Sheehan, president, Overture
Networks.
The adoption
of forward-looking strategies, melding the latest and best EoC and fiber
innovations, is a testament to Integra’s dedication to delivering world-class
Ethernet Services to its customers. Integra is well-positioned to maintain its
role as a true market and industry leader, and Overture is pleased to be part
of this process,” Sheehan added.
Integra
Telecom, a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) is delivering new
applications such as managed and cloud services in addition to traditional voice,
video, data and internet applications.
The launch of
Overture Networks’ EoC platforms, spanning more than 120 Central Offices (COs),
will enable Integra to deliver high-speed, low-cost bandwidth to Integra’s
growing list of business customers.
The partnership
with Overture will enable Integra to offer an even richer variety of product
and service offerings, extend high bandwidth fiber footprint with next
generation copper infrastructure.
