Telecom equipment major NSN on Thursday said its Single RAN (radio access network) assisted mobile service provider Vodacom Tanzania to upgrade its GSM and 3G HSPA network.
Following the upgradation project, customers of Vodacom Tanzania benefit from clearer voice calls and faster data services across the country.
In addition, Vodacom Tanzania improved its network capacity as well as coverage.
“NSN’s radio network equipment and services have ensured a higher performance network so that we can maintain our competitive edge in Tanzania,” said Rene Meza, managing director, Vodacom Tanzania.
Pete Beadle, customer team head of Vodcom Tanzania at NSN, said its base station improves network capacity reduces capital and operating costs for Vodacom Tanzania as the base station is extremely compact, requiring minimal floor space, and consumes 70 percent lesser energy than before.
