Nokia bags 100G optical network deal from China Mobile

China Mobile VoLTE
Telecom software and networks major Nokia has bagged over 30 percent of China Mobile’s project to construct a 100G optical network.

China Mobile’s 100G optical network will be supporting its rollout of mobile broadband services for the world’s largest 4G network.

China Mobile, the largest telecom operator in the world, will benefit from Nokia’s 100G Optical Transport Network (OTN) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) backbone based on the recently announced 1830 PSS-24X packet optical transport system.

The deployment will help China Mobile add optical capacity, meet rising mobile data demands in the cloud era and deliver the highest speed and quality to the expanding 4G customer base.

“With our 100G OTN solution, we are able to help China Mobile meet the higher requirements for large-scale 4G construction,” said Mike Wang, head of the joint management team of Nokia Networks China and Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell.
