Newtec appoints Sjoerd De Clerck as sales head for Asia Pacific

Sjoerd De Clerck, Newtec’s VP Asia
Newtec, a technology provider for satellite communications, announced the appointment of Sjoerd De Clerck as sales vice president for Asia Pacific — responsible for ensuring the growth across the continents.

Newtec recently announced its partnerships with leading Asian companies and several wins with top clients. Newtec serves all leading satellite operators, the majority of broadcasters, service providers and Satcom partners in Asia Pacific.

Based at Newtec’s Singapore office, Sjoerd De Clerck will report to Newtec’s global chief commercial officer (CCO) Thomas Van den Driessche.

Before joining Newtec, Sjoerd De Clerck was VP at Barco N.V. – a technology company that designs and develops virtualization solutions for professional markets.

Asia Pacific is one of Newtec’s important regions due to the increasing demand for global GEO High Throughput Satellite (HTS) services, which is expected to reach 1.5 Tbps globally by 2024. Asia is the second largest market for satellite capacity.

The growing mobility market, Asia’s continued digital transformation and expanding multiservice ecosystem will add to Newtec’s sales growth in Asia Pacific.
