China Mobile and Huawei

China Mobile Henan and Huawei have launched new calling features using Data Channel (DC) technology. This technology allows users to share screens, translate languages in real time, use virtual avatars, and access customer service during calls. Over 20 devices now support these new features, which improve the calling experience.

Inmarsat Maritime

Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat company, announced that Toei Reefer Line, a supplier of sashimi-grade tuna, will install NexusWave on board the company’s factory vessels to support their crew and business connectivity requirements. Inmarsat’s NexusWave integrates Global Xpress (GX) Ka-band, Low-Earth Orbit (LEO), coastal LTE, and L-band services to deliver Internet with global coverage wherever its ships are sailing.

Lumos

Lumos, a fibre-optic internet provider, is expanding into Georgia with a 5,000-mile investment in fibre optic internet. This will bring internet access to over 320,000 homes and businesses in the state. The expansion aims to support education, business, and economic growth by providing reliable internet. Lumos is working to bridge the digital divide in underserved areas and improve connectivity across the Eastern and Midwestern U.S.

Indie Semiconductor has partnered with GlobalFoundries to develop radar chips for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in cars. The collaboration focuses on 77 GHz and 120 GHz radar solutions for features like collision warning, emergency braking, and occupant monitoring. This partnership aims to make radar technology more affordable and widely used in vehicles to improve safety and performance.

Orange

Orange Africa and Middle East (OMEA) and Eutelsat have partnered to provide satellite internet in remote areas of Africa and the Middle East. Initial deployment will cover Jordan, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with plans to expand.
