Mavenir Secures Contract to Transform Messaging Capabilities for Deutsche Telekom

Mavenir, the leading Network Software Provider, has clinched a contract to modernize and revolutionize messaging capabilities for Deutsche Telekom networks in Austria, Czech Republic, Greece, and Slovakia. This strategic move is geared towards ensuring 5G readiness across these regions.
Deutsche Telekom network EuropeMavenir’s Message Controller solution is designed to facilitate revenue growth across telecom networks, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, through secure Application to Person (A2P) messaging. The solution is anticipated to play a pivotal role in supporting machine-to-machine communication (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, crucial components of the 5G landscape.

The Message Controller consolidates messaging needs across various generations of networks, ranging from 2G to 5G, in a unified solution, mitigating unnecessary complexities. This consolidated solution includes features such as MMSC, SMSC, IP Short Message Gateway (IP-SM GW), SMS firewall, and SMS Function (SMSF) for 5G networks.

The streamlined approach ensures a cohesive messaging experience, aiding operators in transitioning away from legacy infrastructure. Delivered as a containerized cloud-native solution, the Message Controller is adaptable to any cloud, enhancing agility and flexibility while simultaneously reducing costs, energy consumption, and carbon footprint.

Automation is a key feature of Mavenir’s Message Controller, utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tooling to significantly reduce deployment, upgrade, and scaling times. Automated software streamlines preparation before deployment and ongoing operational management. The solution includes Mavenir’s spam and fraud prevention, fortifying networks, safeguarding subscribers, and protecting revenue.

“The long experience with Mavenir in the Messaging area has shown that we can work as partners to deliver the best service to our customers. For our DT cloudification journey, we decided to continue this partnership in European footprint,” Tino Puch, Technology Delivery International at Deutsche Telekom, said.

Ilia Abramov, VP, GM, Security at Mavenir, emphasized the potential for innovation in A2P, M2M, and massive IoT messaging, stating, “There is huge potential to be unlocked from A2P, M2M and massive IoT messaging, and operators need to seize this opportunity and lead the market with innovative capabilities.”
