Indosat, Ericsson launch cloud-based M2M platform

Indosat, the Indonesian subsidiary of telecom service provider Ooredoo, and Ericsson have jointly launched a cloud-based Machine-to-Machine platform in Indonesia.

The M2M platform named Ericsson Device Connection Platform (DCP) will be launched later this year at Qatar, Algeria and Tunisia.

“Ericsson DCP delivers faster support for business customers. The platform will play a key role in speeding up the implementation of smart city technologies and help develop smarter economies, infrastructure, environments and governance in the markets that we operate,” said Nasser Marafih, group CEO of Ooredoo.

The venture expects to facilitate business growth in Indonesia, particularly in sectors such as banking, transportation, energy, and public services, by means of the M2M platform.
