Huawei hikes share in global telecom equipment market in first half of 2025: Dell’Oro

Dell’Oro Group has released its latest report on the global telecom equipment market share of leading vendors for the first-half of 2025.

Huawei led the global telecom equipment market in the first half of 2025 with a 31 percent revenue share, followed by Nokia at 13 percent, Ericsson at 12 percent, and ZTE at 10 percent, according to Dell’Oro Group.

Cisco and Ciena accounted for 4 percent each, while Samsung had a 2 percent share. Excluding China, Huawei maintained leadership with 21 percent, ahead of Nokia at 17 percent and Ericsson at 16 percent. Cisco and ZTE had 6 percent and 4 percent shares respectively, followed by Ciena and Samsung at 4 percent and 3 percent.

Excluding North America, Huawei dominated with a 40 percent share, trailed by ZTE at 14 percent and Nokia at 12 percent. Ericsson, Cisco, and Ciena contributed 9 percent, 3 percent, and 2 percent respectively, while Fiberhome held 1 percent.

Supplier rankings remained largely stable, though Huawei expanded its lead while Ericsson and Nokia experienced marginal share declines compared with 2024, Stefan Pongratz at Dell’Oro Group said.

Global telecom equipment revenues across the six programs tracked by Dell’Oro Group — Broadband Access, Microwave & Optical Transport, Mobile Core Network (MCN), Radio Access Network (RAN), and Service Provider Router & Switch — grew 4 percent year over year in the first half of 2025.

The growth was supported by favorable currency trends, inventory stabilization, and easier comparisons with the previous year. Markets outside China showed stronger recovery with an 8 percent revenue increase, led by gains in MCN, Optical Transport, and SP Router & Switch segments.

Dell’Oro has slightly raised its outlook for 2025, now projecting global telecom equipment revenues to grow between 2 and 3 percent, up from a previously flat forecast.
