Huawei deploys TD-LTE Easy Macro base station for China Mobile

Telecom network vendor Huawei today said it has deployed the first TD- LTE Easy Macro base station for China Mobile in Beijing.

Huawei, which competes with Ericsson, Nokia Networks, Alcatel-Lucent and ZTE, said the enhanced TD-LTE Easy Macro improves the download rate by 40 percent for outdoor users and 180 percent for indoor users.

Huawei’s Easy Macro, a small and light weight macro base station, is eco-friendly with a carbon footprint of zero. It can be used and installed easily, mountable on walls, lamppost, poles, and roof top and other zero site space locations.

Huawei claims that it has a high power output and large capacity, which can help operators enhance network coverage and capacity easily.

Huawei completes its first LTE TDD Easy Macro commercial deployment in Beijing with China Mobile

China Mobile has more than 20 million TD-LTE subscribers as of July 2014. The number of China Mobile 4G users will reach 50 million by the end of this year.

China Mobile deployed TD-LTE Easy Macro in a Beijing Hutong in a compact area with dense population, to demonstrate its strengths and to address rapidly growing 4G subscriber base.

Huawei in a statement said it will launch Easy Macro in global telecom markets. It will benefit telecoms which are looking at coverage in densely populated old urban areas, scenic roads, residential quarters, scenic parks and major roads.

Huawei claims that it has won 77 TD-LTE network contracts to date out of 87 LTE TDD networks have been deployed around the world.
