Huawei completes 3CCA connectivity test with 300 Mbps download speed

Telecom network vendor Huawei – in association with Qualcomm Technologies — has completed a 3 Component Carrier Aggregation (3CCA) connectivity test with download speeds reaching up to 300 Mbps.

The test utilized Huawei’s SingleRAN equipment and a device featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The test achieved a peak download speed of up to 300 Mbps with 3 carrier support from 40 to 60MHz wideband carrier aggregation.

Huawei and LG Uplus in South Korea conducted the world’s first 3 Component Carrier Aggregation commercial networks test in June. The telecom industry is expecting that more telecom operators will begin technology tests and commercial trials. These tests indicate that 3CCA will be commercial once devices are available to support 3 Carrier Aggregation. But the telecom industry is mum on the dateline on the availability of such devices.

“The test marks an important step for 3 Component Carrier aggregation commercialization. We will continue to invest in cutting-edge technologies and work with industry collaborators to promote the development of mobile broadband around the world,” said WangJun, president of Huawei LTE FDD Wireless Networks.
