Harris Corp bags $10 million order to supply Falcon III radios to Poland Govt

Telecom Lead America: Harris Corp has received a $10 million order to supply Falcon III AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radios and Falcon II AN/PRC-150 manpack radios to the Polish Ministry of National Defense.

Harris said the Ministry of National Defense is acquiring the AN/PRC-117G multiband radio to provide communications interoperability with United States, NATO and coalition forces.

The AN/PRC-117G delivers combat net radio, tactical satellite and ground-to-air capabilities in a lightweight, versatile platform. The AN/PRC-150 provides long-range Type-1 secure beyond-line-of-sight communications to forces operating in challenging environments.

“The AN/PRC-117G is the first and only widely deployed tactical wideband networking solution that offers secure interoperability with United States and NATO Forces,’’ said Brendan O’Connell, president, international business unit, Harris RF Communications.

In fact, Poland’s Ministry of National Defense ordered its first AN/PRC-117G manpack radios late last year, and is deploying additional radios to expand this interoperable network to more of its deployed personnel.

The Falcon III AN/PRC-117G provides warfighters with unprecedented situational awareness through wireless, high-bandwidth communications. The software-defined, upgradeable AN/PRC-117G gives warfighters on the move and field commanders critical real-time information through a man-portable radio that is significantly smaller, lighter, and more capable than legacy units.

The radio also provides a seamless transition to wideband networking through the Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform. The Falcon II AN/PRC-150 is the most advanced military Type-1 HF radio available today, setting the standard for reliable, long-range HF communication on the battlefield.

Falcon III is the next generation of radios supporting the U.S. military’s Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) requirements, as well as network-centric operations worldwide. Harris RF Communications is also a supplier of assured communications systems and equipment for public safety, utility and transportation markets — with products ranging from the most advanced IP voice and data networks to portable and mobile single- and multiband radios.
