Ericsson names Rima Qureshi as chief strategy officer to look after mergers and LTE thin modem

Global telecom network vendor Ericsson today appointed Rima Qureshi as chief strategy officer.

She will drive the company’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy and activities, besides serving as chairman of Business Unit Modems focusing on LTE thin modem business.

During 2013, Qureshi led strategic projects for Ericsson globally. She will be based in Canada and Sweden and will report to Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg.

Ericsson names Rima Qureshi as chief strategy officer

Earlier, Rima led the integration of the CDMA and LTE assets of the former Nortel Networks and ran the business unit CDMA Mobile Systems during the years 2010-2012.

Rima Qureshi has been senior vice president and part of Ericsson’s Executive Leadership Team since 2010.

Rima Qureshi joined Ericsson in 1993. Besides running Business Unit CDMA Mobile Systems, she had leadership roles in R&D, sales, and services, including managing global service delivery centers in Canada, the US, Mexico and Brazil.
