Ericsson inks deals with Telkomsel and Indosat

Ericsson strategy
Telecom network vendor Ericsson announced its deals with Telkomsel and Indosat, two leading mobile operators in Indonesia.

Ericsson will supply its multi-standard radio base stations for GSM and WCDMA / HSPA (3G) to Telkomsel to boost its network in Kalimantan region of Indonesia.

The transformation project includes the introduction of Ericsson’s RBS 6320 product, developed for tropical climates.

Ericsson will assist Indosat, a member of Ooredoo Group, to deploy 4G / LTE network in Greater Jakarta.

The telecom network deal covers 2G, 3G and 4G / LTE network technology, implementation services and network performance optimization. The solution works seamlessly with the existing 2G and 3G networks already supplied by Ericsson.

Ericsson will supply RBS 6000 base station to enable network optimization for Indosat to capture the demand of mobile broadband in Indonesia.

“The upgrade helps our customers to enjoy a superior experience using our network, while also better positioning us to serve our country’s need for a strong data network,” said Alexander Rusli, CEO and president director of Indosat.
