“Providing the best LTE network in Taiwan will be an important stepping stone to execute on our long term strategy. Besides telecom services, operators need to accelerate expansion into new areas to develop IoT services where much more capable and agile networks become indispensable on the way to develop 4G and evolve to 5G,” said Yvonne Li, president of Far EasTone.

Ericsson said the deal covers LTE network expansion and optimization projects, including Ericsson Radio Access Network, Evolved Packet Core, VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling and professional services.

Ericsson claims that it is the number one in LTE market share within the world’s top 100 cities. More than 220 LTE RAN and Evolved Packet Core networks have been delivered worldwide, of which 170 are live commercially.
