Dell gains in India storage market as HPE slips

Dell has gained share in the India storage market during Q3 2018 as main rival HPE lost share.

Dell has 30.3 percent of the storage market share. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has 18 percent market share in Q3 2018.

HPE, NetApp, IBM and Hitachi lost storage market share in Q3 2018 vs Q3 2017. Dell was the only storage supplier to gain share in the Indian storage market during the third quarter of 2018.

India storage market revenue achieved 23.1 percent growth to $81.8 million in Q3 2018, IDC report said.

Telecom operators spending on storage was one of the growth drivers. Top Indian mobile operators are Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and BSNL. Indian telecoms are spending on adding mobile data network capacity.
