Comarch and ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Collaborate on Advanced 5G SA Network for KDDI

Comarch has partnered with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions to deliver a virtualized 5G Standalone (SA) network for KDDI, a Japanese telecommunications operator. The collaboration focuses on enhancing KDDI’s infrastructure.
KDDI AU store JapanComarch’s role in the project includes providing an Operations Support System (OSS) for managing KDDI’s 5G SA core equipment. The OSS system covers functionalities such as network element control, planning, monitoring, and service assurance. Comarch’s product suite encompasses network inventory, planning and design tools, resource orchestration, and bi-directional network integration.

KDDI now benefits from automated failure detection, root-cause identification, and recovery method decision in its mobile network operations. The implementation includes advanced fault management, performance monitoring, service desk capabilities, ensuring quick issue resolution and a reliable communication infrastructure for customers.

The collaboration signifies a crucial step in KDDI’s pursuit of its strategic vision for 2030, focusing on the development of maintenance-free networks. The joint efforts of Comarch and ITOCHU Techno-Solutions contribute to operational automation within KDDI’s 5G SA network, emphasizing the importance of high-speed data transmission and network optimization through digitization and network slicing.

“The selection of Comarch OSS by one of the largest Japanese operators confirms our strong position in the context of 5G network implementations,” Pawel Workiewicz, Head of Business Development Division in APAC & MEA at Comarch, said.
