Casa Systems provides CMTS to OptiComm to roll out wholesale broadband access services

Telecom Lead Asia Pacific: Casa Systems, a provider of
cable edge technology, announced that
its C2200 & C3200 Cable Modem Termination
Systems (CMTS) have been selected by OptiComm.

The selection made by OptiComm will support its rollout
of Australia’s first, wholesale only, HFC network delivering High Speed
Data (HSD) services.

The Casa Systems CMTSs are the only products on the
market with Gold Level certification from CableLabs for DOCSIS
3.0 and we have been very happy with the reliability and ease of use of
the product.

Casa Systems has provided OptiComm a platform that
enables us to deliver Australia’s first Layer 2, open access HFC solution
delivering speeds up to 100Mbps to end users via multiple retail service
providers.

The terms of the multi-year agreement calls for Casa
Systems to deliver its C2200 & C3200 to all of OptiComm’s markets in
Australia to enable next generation HSD services.

“OptiComm is a forward thinking operator as
evidenced by their being first to market with a wholesale only service in
Australia. We are very excited to be selected by OptiComm as their DOCSIS 3.0
CMTS platform and are eager to help them with their aggressive rollout of
multimedia broadband services,” said Jerry Guo, founder and CEO of Casa
Systems.

The company said that its innovative approach enables
cable operators to cost effectively offer highly scalable broadband services
such as IPTV, video-over-IP, interactive gaming, as well as
traditional broadband access and VoIP services.

Guangzhou Digital selects Casa Systems for expanding telecom
network

Last year, Casa Systems was selected by one of China’s largest
cable network operators, Guangzhou Digital Media Group, to expand its broadband
communications services to subscribers using the C10G Cable Modem Termination
System (CMTS).
