Aptilo in Wi-Fi offloading deal with CNT

Carrier Wi-Fi
Aptilo Networks today announced its Wi-Fi offloading deal with Ecuadorian telecom operator CNT to enable Wi-Fi services.

The announcement was made at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016) in Barcelona.

“This nationwide deployment brings carrier Wi-Fi services to the Ecuador population and will be the first of its kind,” said Cesar Regalado, CEO of CNT.

Aptilo Wi-Fi offloading solutions allow telecom operators to develop multiple strategies in order to boost business from hotels, stadiums, government agencies and private companies as well as offering Wi-Fi services directly to subscribers. Wi-Fi services reduce churn, delivering a significant return on investment.

CNT is using the Aptilo Service Management Platform (SMP) to deliver and manage carrier-class Wi-Fi services. Aptilo SMP enables carrier Wi-Fi in a scalable platform, supporting growth of the Wi-Fi network.

With Aptilo SMP, CNT is positioned to deploy the best carrier Wi-Fi solution in the market with a strategic migration path to incorporate Wi-Fi offloading (EAP-SIM) and Wi-Fi calling in the upcoming phases.

“For telecoms, Wi-Fi services are a key component to future growth and increased profitability, driven by increased customer satisfaction, reduced churn and new business revenue generation,” said Paul Mikkelsen, CEO of Aptilo Networks.
