Algerie Telecom to modernize transport network sites

Algerie Telecom has selected Nokia Networks to modernize its transport network sites in a bid to better data services significantly.

Nokia Networks did not share the financial details of the contract.

Nokia Networks Global Services will assure the deployment of the IP/MPLS solution that is optimized to provide system scalability and performance of the transport network to address the growth of data traffic. The deployment will save operating costs and enable Algerie Telecom to offer flexible transport services across network domains.

The state-owned Algerie Telecom, the first telecom operator providing LTE technology in North Africa, and the second in the continent after South Africa, will soon be able to offer more reliable broadband connectivity to its subscribers across the largest country in Africa.
