Airtel taps 5BARz to improve customer experience

Mobile signal strength
Telecom network operator Bharti Airtel has tapped 5BARz India to improve customer experience.

Intended for deployment throughout Bharti Airtel subscriber connections at homes and offices in cases of weak cellular signals caused by thick concrete walls and densely cluttered buildings, mainly in urban surroundings, the 5BARz plug and play network extender claims to provide improved cellular connectivity for clear voice calls and faster data throughput, alongside saving battery usage of mobile handsets.

The California based company said that network extender can extend to an area of an approximate two bedroom apartment or a small office. The device intends on improving both the quality of voice calls and the web browsing experience.

The firm has the record of successful implementation of its range of network extenders for cellular signals functioning like a Wi-Fi signal repeater, in densely populated urban localities. The Plug and Play feature extenders have been on demand owing to zero installation costs.

The move is a step in the Project Leap network transformation program started in last December which is an initiative aimed at upping network quality and improving customer experience. Under the same, Airtel has invested over INR 15,000 crore across India towards deployment of over 88,000 sites and plans to make a national investment of Rs 60,000 crore in a three year span.

The Indian telecom operator also announced a new initiative Open Network, giving access to its entire mobile network information to customers through an interactive online interface. But Bharti Airtel does not say how Open Network actually assists telecom customers to improve quality of services.

“We are excited to be working with Bharti Airtel, India’s leading telecom operator. Encouraged by our previous successes in the field and laboratory trials we are now looking forward to work with Bharti Airtel and roll-out our services pan India in the coming days,” said Samartha Nagabhushanam, CEO of 5BARz India.

5BARz had previously announced a partnership and trial roll-out with a second Tier 1 cellular operator in India, in February 2016 without disclosing operator details.
