Telecom Lead Asia: Quantenna announced the launch of the world’s fastest Wi-Fi chip.
Quantenna says 4×4 MU-MIMO 802.11ac chipset transmits faster, reaches farther and serves more devices more reliably than any other Wi-Fi solution ever created.
The company claims that Quantenna’s 1.7Gbps QSR1000 solution is the only Wave 2 802.11ac chipset.
Quantenna hopes that by the end of this year, 802.11ac Wi-Fi will be widely deployed in smartphones and tablets driving the need for Wave 2 to enable the most efficient use of the available spectrum.
The QSR1000 combines Quantenna’s 4×4 architecture with multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) technology, dynamic-digital beamforming and support for four spatial streams to deliver unsurpassed performance, range, reliability and coverage.
In addition, QSR1000 is ideally suited to multimedia applications that demand wire-like quality. With almost 2Gbps total throughput, it streams flawless, carrier-grade IPTV to multiple devices in full 1080p or 4K Ultra HD resolution, easily reaching through concrete walls and into every corner of multistory homes.
Craig Mathias, principal at the mobile and wireless advisory firm Farpoint Group, said: “Whether the goal is improved throughput, increased capacity, or the clear benefits of multi-user MIMO, Quantenna’s innovative QSR1000 leapfrogs the industry with features and performance that will become the new residential and corporate standard in Wi-Fi.”
Sam Heidari, CEO of Quantenna, said: ““Applications like wireless HDTV streaming need to work flawlessly. With the QSR1000, we’ve created the only Wi-Fi solution in the world that outperforms our 802.11n solution. In addition to our pioneering 4×4 MIMO and beamforming technology, it introduces multi-user MIMO and other Wave 2 enhancements.”
