Tata Communications, China Mobile power telepresence at JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai

Telecom Lead India: Tata Communications – in partnership with China Mobile – has launched Telepresence suite at JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai, China.

The new in-hotel facility is located within the JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Tomorrow Square and provides high definition and immersive virtual collaboration experience to users.

The JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Telepresence facility will be connected to Tata Communications’ GlobalMeeting Exchange Telepresence inter-exchange network.

This network has connectivity to all Tata Communications’ private Telepresence rooms as well as the customers of service providers with whom it has inter-exchange connectivity agreements in place, and vice versa.

In addition, Tata Communications’ Global Meeting Exchange Telepresence inter-exchange network also serves as a gateway to its public room Telepresence network with more than 40 rooms across five continents.

Peter Quinlan, vice president, Integrated Business Video Services, Tata Communications, said: “The addition of Shanghai to our Telepresence community provides companies doing business with China – and Chinese companies doing business internationally – with a powerful collaboration tool and a great way to accelerate and enhance all manner of relationships.”

The Shanghai public Telepresence room offers users who do not have Telepresence rooms within their company, access to this technology at an affordable hourly rate.

Silvio Rosenberger, general manager, JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai, said:  “As the only hotel in Shanghai equipped with a Telepresence meeting suite, this is another example of JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai’s commitment to innovation by offering our clients an exciting, new meeting solution that facilitates a ‘face-to-face’ meeting in the same room, regardless of global location.”
