Qualcomm Technologies has introduced its most advanced mobile processor to date, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, designed to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra globally and the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 in select markets.
The chipset features Qualcomm’s custom-built 3rd Gen Oryon CPU, next-generation Adreno GPU, and advanced Hexagon NPU, delivering significant gains in performance, graphics, and on-device AI processing.
The platform is engineered to support enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities, including faster workflows, improved personalization features such as Now Nudge, and advanced camera innovations like Advanced Professional Video capture.
Qualcomm and Samsung Electronics collaborated closely to optimize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy AI experiences. The chip enables real-time suggestions, background task automation, and efficient AI-driven interactions directly on the device, enhancing both productivity and user convenience.
Connectivity is another key highlight. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy integrates Qualcomm Smart Transmit technology to optimize uplink power across 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and satellite connections. This ensures faster uploads, stronger coverage, and seamless performance while maintaining efficiency.
The platform also incorporates the Qualcomm FastConnect 7900 Mobile Connectivity System with integrated Ultra Wideband support, delivering more responsive device interactions.
