Ericsson, Qualcomm achieve 450 Mbps download speeds during LTE Category 9 testing

Ericsson and Qualcomm Technologies today said they achieved download speeds of up to 450 Mbps during the world’s first inter-company interoperability testing of LTE Category 9 connectivity.

Ericsson used its LTE-Advanced network infrastructure and QTI’s LTE-Advanced modem for the testing.  The Category 9 speeds allow mobile users to benefit from fast downloads, better app performance, and get better coverage for more connectivity-based applications.

Qualcomm

“Inter-company vendor interoperability testing between network and device is key to enabling large-scale commercial deployments,” said Thomas Noren, vice president, head of Radio Product Management at Ericsson.
