CES 2014: Qualcomm’s CEO-elect Steve Mollenkopf

At the CES 2014, Qualcomm’s CEO-elect Steve Mollenkopf announced a slew of new initiatives that help in improving customer experience.

The wireless chip vendor announced the availability of AllPlay Smart Media Platform enabling wireless home audio for the mass market. Companies such as Altec Lansing, iHeartRadio, Panasonic and Rhapsody committed to the commercial release of AllPlay-powered products.

Qualcomm Smart Gateway Platform transforms connected experiences in the home to enable a new breed of applications and services. Qualcomm Internet Processor (IPQ) enables a robust Smarthome platform to improve consumers’ connected experiences in the home.

Qualcomm Technologies has expanded its automotive product offering by introducing an automotive-grade infotainment chipset, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 602A.

In addition, Qualcomm announced an integrated SoC — Qualcomm Snapdragon 802 — designed for smart TVs, smart set-top boxes and smart digital media adapters.
