Smartphone market share report for Q1 2014 from IDC

IDC smartphone market share report for Q1 2014 today revealed the latest position of Samsung at 31.1 percent from 31.9 percent in Q1 2013, Apple 15.3 percent (17.1), Huawei 4.8 percent (4.3), Lenovo 4.5 percent (3.6) and LG 4.3 percent (4.7).

The IT market research agency said Q1 2014 smartphone shipments rose 30.2 percent to 284.8 million. But it declined 1.7 percent from the 289.6 million units shipped in Q4 2013.

Smartphones accounted for 62.6 percent of all mobile phone shipments in Q1 2014 against 50.7 percent of all mobile phone shipments in Q1 2013.

IDC expects smartphone shipment will grow 19.3 percent to 1.2 billion units in 2014 against 39.2 percent increase in 2013.
