China Telecom today confirmed that it is in initial talks with China Mobile and China Unicom to set up a tower company to share operating cost and lower network construction.
The three main Chinese telecom operators are yet to finalize the equity structure and future plans, China Telecom said in a statement.
Years back, Indian telecom operators Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone floated a telecom tower joint venture called Indus Towers to share their infrastructure and lease facilities to their rivals as well.
