Motorola says some features of Moto E are better than Samsung S4

Motorola has selected India for the global launch of its latest budget smartphone – Moto E. It says some of the features are better than Samsung S4.

Moto E assists Motorola to grab more market share in emerging telecom markets. The price of Moto E is Rs 6,999. Most of the young journalists at the New Delhi press meet today welcomed the price of the new smartphone from Motorola.

The company is not a leading smartphone in India. The top smartphone vendors in India are Samsung, Micromax and Karbonn.

Motorola, which is nearing to sell half a million smartphones in India, wants to take on Samsung S4 with special features of Moto E.

Motorola can not compare Samsung S4 with Moto E because there is a huge difference in the price of Samsung S4 and Moto E and specifications. Plus, Moto E is available through only Flipkart, an ecommerce channel. Samsung S4 is widely available across India. But Motorola claims that features offer better performance than Samsung S4.

Motorola Mobility, which will be moved to Lenovo, is bringing Moto E just after the launch of Moto G and Moto X.

Moto E launch

The main USP of Moto E is the Kit Kat OS. Majority of Android phone users are not benefiting from the latest Kit Kat OS because major smartphone vendors are opting for the new Android operating system.

The second focus is its 1,980mAh battery that offers full day battery life after charging 100 percent, said Motorola.

Motorola is ahead of Samsung, LG and HTC in terms of bringing Android Kit Kat OS.

The company is also promising the update of the Kit Kat to the new version.

Main specifications of Moto E smartphone include 4.3-inch display with 960x540p resolution, dual SIM, Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 4G internal memory, microSD cards for storage expansion, 1,980mAh battery, FM Radio, 5MP rear camera, no back camera.

The new device can access Internet over 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi networks, while data can be transferred via microUSB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0.

Moto E will come with 20 user-removable back covers.

Motorola is eyeing the large number of mobile phone users who are switching from feature phones to budget smartphones with Moto E.
