Karbonn Mobiles ties up with Airtel to offer free 500MB 3G data and unlimited 2G

Telecom Lead Asia: Karbonn Mobiles has tied up with Bharti Airtel to offer free 500MB of 3G data and unlimited 2G on Airtel for six months for buyers of smartphones such as A9+, A15, A21 and A30.

The joint marketing initiative by Airtel, India’s largest mobile service provider, is a special effort to bring multi smartphones to its customers.

Airtel has similar data bundling arrangements with Sony and Nokia smarphones.

Idea Cellular, which started bundling handsets in association with devices makers, started selling 3G smartphones more than a year ago. On Wednesday, Idea Cellular announced that it sold more than 2.25 lakh smartphone in the Indian mobile market within over a year. Ivory, dual SIM 3G smartphone launched in Hyderabad at a price of at Rs 7390, is the fifth Android based 3G smartphone from Idea.
