Karbonn, MediaTek announce 3 smartphones in Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000 price range

Karbonn in association with chip vendor MediaTek announced three smartphones on Android 4.4 KitKat OS — Karbonn Titanium Hexa, Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus – in the Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000 price bracket.

The third largest smartphone vendor in India said the price of Karbonn Titanium Hexa will be Rs 16,990, Titanium Octane at Rs 14,490 and Titanium Octane Plus at Rs 17,990.

Karbonn, which is targeting sales turnover of more than Rs 4,500 crore in FY 2013-14, said the latest devices will be ready for shipping from the last week of April 2014.

Karbonn competes with Samsung, Apple, Nokia, Micromax, Lava, etc. to gain market share in the Indian smartphone market.

With MediaTek’s hexa-core and octa-core processors, the new Titanium portfolio by Karbonn smartphones will allow users to experience multi-tasking coupled with low power consumption.

The recently launched MT6591 hexa-core processor by MediaTek allows all 6-cores to run at full speed simultaneously. Clocked at speeds of up to 1.5Ghz, the chipset enables chromium browsing experience while running multiple, concurrent and independent applications.
