Apple iPhone 6s sales flop with zero growth in Dec quarter

US technology giant Apple today said the number of iPhones sold did not grow in its fiscal 2016 first quarter ended December 26, 2015.

The iconic iPhone maker did not share specific details on the response of iPhone 6s during the quarter. Apple suppliers have already indicated that Apple is heading for a dull market conditions.

Apple achieved just 1 percent growth in iPhone revenue – indicating the poor performance of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus in global smartphone markets.

The device maker said it shipped 74.77 million iPhones (0 percent) and 16.12 million (-25 percent) iPads and 5.31 million (-4 percent) Mac computers in Q1 2016, the holiday season for Apple.

Apple revenue from iPhones touched $51,635 million (+1 percent), $7,084 million (-21 percent) from iPad and $6,746 million (-3 percent) from Mac computers.

“Our team delivered Apple’s biggest quarter ever, thanks to the world’s most innovative products and all-time record sales of iPhone, Apple Watch and Apple TV,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “The growth of our Services business accelerated during the quarter to produce record results, and our installed base recently crossed a major milestone of one billion active devices.”

Revenue of Apple from Americas and Japan fell during the first quarter.

Apple generated revenues of $29,325 million (-4 percent) from Americas, $17,932 million (+4 percent) from Europe, $18,373 million (+14 percent) from Greater China, $4,794 million (-12 percent) from Japan) and $5,448 million (+4 percent) from Rest of Asia Pacific.
