Western Digital receives approval for $693 mn HDD project in Thailand

Western Digital has received approval from Thailand for an investment project worth 23.5 billion baht or $693 million to expand its hard disk drive (HDD) production base in the country, Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) said.

Western Digital has reported revenue of $3.76 billion (up 9 percent q-o-q) in fourth-quarter and $13 billion (up 6 percent) in fiscal-year 2024.

Western Digital has generated revenue of $5.378 billion from Cloud, $4.647 billion from Client and $2.978 billion from Consumer in fiscal 2024.

Western Digital has generated revenue of $6.687 billion from Flash and $6.316 billion from HDD during fiscal 2024.
