STMicroelectronics (STM), a semiconductor leader catering to diverse electronics applications, has declared a forthcoming reorganization set to take effect on February 5th, 2024.
The reorganization introduces two distinct Product Groups:
Analog, Power & Discrete, MEMS, and Sensors (APMS): This division, under the leadership of Marco Cassis, ST President and Executive Committee member, amalgamates ST’s analog products, including Smart Power solutions for automotive, Power & Discrete product lines (including Silicon Carbide products), as well as MEMS and Sensors. APMS will feature two Reportable Segments: Analog products, MEMS, and Sensors (AM&S); and Power and discrete products (P&D).
Microcontrollers, Digital ICs, and RF products (MDRF): Headed by Remi El-Ouazzane, also an ST President and Executive Committee member, this group encompasses ST’s digital ICs, microcontrollers (including automotive microcontrollers), RF, ADAS, and Infotainment ICs. MDRF will consist of two Reportable Segments: Microcontrollers (MCU); and Digital ICs and RF Products (D&RF).
Moreover, Marco Monti, ST President of the former Automotive and Discrete Product Group, is slated to depart from the company as part of this organizational shift.
In addition to these Product Group changes, STMicroelectronics is set to implement a novel application marketing organization by end market across all its regional segments. Jerome Roux, ST President and Executive Committee member, will oversee this initiative as part of the Sales & Marketing organization. This strategic move aims to furnish ST customers with comprehensive system solutions leveraging the company’s robust product and technology portfolio.
The application marketing organization will cater to four key end markets:
Automotive
Industrial Power and Energy
Industrial Automation, IoT, and AI
Personal Electronics, Communication Equipment, and Computer Peripherals
This organizational overhaul aligns with STMicroelectronics’ commitment to hasten time-to-market, bolster innovation in product development, and streamline operational efficiency, Jean-Marc Chery, President and CEO of STMicroelectronics. said.
