Viasat Secures $900 mn Contract with U.S. Air Force for Tech Integration

Viasat, a satellite communications company, has won a $900 million contract from the U.S. Air Force’s Life Cycle Management Center (USAF LCMC).
Viasat booth at a trade eventViasat will be prototyping and testing diverse systems, hardware, software, and cybersecurity solutions for U.S. Air Force. The objective is to deliver integrated, multi-domain capabilities for the U.S. Air Force. This contract spans an approximate five-year term, extendable by an additional five years through available options.

“This award provides the means to work directly with the Air Force research, development, and operational communities to transition a huge range of developments, which can all ultimately help deliver mission success,” Susan Miller, President of Viasat Government, said

Viasat said its acquisition of Inmarsat in May 2023 augmented the company’s scale and scope, presently operating a constellation of 18 satellites in space, with an additional 10 satellites in the development pipeline.
