Eutelsat and Bayobab, a subsidiary of MTN Group, have entered into an agreement to provide Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite capacity via Eutelsat’s OneWeb constellation.
This collaboration is set to enhance connectivity across Africa, with a focus on enterprise solutions and cellular backhaul, aimed at improving network performance and user experience.
Bayobab, recognized as Africa’s leading digital and infrastructure service provider, will utilize the OneWeb constellation to offer fixed connectivity services. This initiative is expected to improve coverage in rural regions. The rollout of satellite solutions is planned for completion across the continent by December 2024, with services already operational in four African countries.

The deployment and integration of LEO satellite technology will provide communities across the continent with enhanced connectivity solutions, empowering them in an increasingly digital world.
