Indonesia’s Digital Leap: Telkomsel & ZTE Team Up for Smarter Networks

Telkomsel and ZTE Corporation have signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) at MWC Barcelona 2026 to enhance digital connectivity across Indonesia. The collaboration focuses on developing adaptive, AI‑based intelligent network technologies to improve customer experience and support the country’s digital transformation. Both companies will explore AI‑native Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions and trial the AIREngine module on ZTE’s BBU V9200 platform to boost service reliability and network quality. Efforts will also include expanding Edge User Plane (UPF) implementation to improve broadband access, particularly in remote regions, by reducing latency and strengthening service stability.

Enea Helps Liberty Costa Rica Cut SMS Spam by 99 Percent in Three Weeks

Enea and Liberty Costa Rica have reported strong results from their partnership, achieving a 99 percent reduction in SMS spam within just three weeks of deploying Enea’s Adaptive Messaging Firewall. The rapid decline in fraudulent messaging has significantly improved subscriber safety and strengthened trust in Liberty’s network.

The deployment comes amid rising cybercrime in Costa Rica, where phishing scams, banking fraud, delivery scams, and gambling-related spam have been increasing. Using intelligence-driven filtering and real-time threat data, the solution identified and blocked large-scale spam activity, including more than 30,000 newly registered scam domains used for short-lived attacks. The system continuously adapts to evolving spam tactics, ensuring sustained protection even as fraudsters change their behavior. The initiative has also reduced complaints from both subscribers and international networks affected by spam traffic.
