Globalstar Expands Ground Station in Singapore to Support C-3 Satellite System
Globalstar has started expanding its ground station in Singapore, hosted by Singtel since 2008, by adding two 6-meter tracking antennas to support its third-generation C-3 mobile satellite system, enhancing coverage and capacity for customers in Southeast Asia. The Singapore site is part of Globalstar’s global program to install about 90 new tracking antennas across its ground station network, with other expansion projects underway in Texas, Spain, and Japan. These upgrades aim to improve service for Globalstar’s satellite-based communications, which serve industries requiring reliable connectivity.
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Launches AOZ17517QI 60A eFuse for Server and Telecom Applications
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS) introduced the AOZ17517QI series, a 60 A eFuse in a 5 mm × 5 mm QFN package for 12 V power rails in servers, data centers, and telecom systems. The device combines TrenchFET MOSFET and control IC in a single package. It monitors current, limits overload, and disconnects power during faults to protect circuits. Features include 0.65 mΩ on-resistance, startup safe-operating-area control, hot-plug support, and the ability to connect multiple devices in parallel. It operates from 4.5 V to 20 V (27 V max) and provides programmable protection for over-current, short-circuit, under-voltage, over-voltage, thermal shutdown, and soft-start. The eFuse is in production, priced at $1.80 per unit in 1,000-piece quantities, with a 14-week lead time.
