SOLiD has entered the Canadian market with its ALLIANCE 5G DAS platform, providing advanced in-building communication solutions for large-scale projects, including major transportation infrastructure. The system supports all Canadian operator RF bands and integrates both fiber-to-edge and fiber-to-coax designs for flexible deployment. Its modular architecture enables customers to upgrade cost-effectively as technology evolves, protecting long-term investment. This launch strengthens indoor 5G coverage and capacity for enterprises and public venues, addressing connectivity challenges in high-traffic environments.

Congo Sets Two-Month Deadline for SIM Registration to Boost Security

Congo’s telecom regulator, ARPCE, has mandated that mobile operators MTN and Airtel complete SIM card identification within two months. A recent survey revealed significant non-compliance, with only Kinkala and Djambala meeting requirements. In major cities like Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire, SIM cards are often sold without proper documentation, leading to pre-activation and potential security risks. Operators attribute this to informal resellers bypassing official channels.

COAI Pushes for Spectrum Pricing Overhaul to Protect Industry Profits

The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has called for a reform in the spectrum pricing model, highlighting that the current auction-based system, combined with high input costs, threatens the financial sustainability of the telecom sector. COAI emphasizes the need for pricing that reflects contemporary market realities rather than outdated revenue expectations. The association also advocates for comprehensive policy reforms, including addressing issues related to Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR), license fees, and Goods and Services Tax (GST) refunds, to bridge existing revenue gaps.
