Gilat Wins $60M Orders for Stellar Blu Sidewinder In-Flight Connectivity Terminals

Gilat Satellite Networks announced that its Commercial Division has secured over $60 million in orders from a leading satellite operator for its Stellar Blu ESA Sidewinder in-flight connectivity terminals. Deliveries will take place within the next 12 months and cover hundreds of additional units, supporting new airline retrofit programs and Boeing’s first OEM linefit production run. The Sidewinder ESA is designed to enhance airborne connectivity, and Gilat sees strong growth potential in markets such as VVIP and special mission aircraft.

Starlink Integrates Aadhaar e-KYC for Customer Verification in India

Starlink Satellite Communication has partnered with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to introduce Aadhaar-based e-KYC for customer verification in India. The collaboration enables paperless digital onboarding in compliance with KYC norms, with Aadhaar authentication remaining voluntary under existing regulations. Starlink has been designated as a Sub-Authentication User Agency (Sub-AUA) and Sub-eKYC User Agency (Sub-KUA), formalized in a ceremony with UIDAI officials.

Kioxia Develops 5TB, 64GB/s Flash Memory Module for Post-5G Applications

Kioxia developed a prototype 5TB flash memory module with 64GB/s bandwidth under Japan’s NEDO-funded “Post-5G Information and Communication Systems Infrastructure Enhancement R&D Project.” The module supports large-scale AI models, edge computing, IoT, and big data analytics in post-5G and 6G networks. Key features include a daisy-chain architecture connecting memory boards via controllers for higher capacity without reducing bandwidth, and 128 Gbps PAM4 transceivers for high-speed data transfer. Flash prefetch and interface optimizations reduce read latency and enhance memory bandwidth. The module operates on PCIe 6.0 interfaces while consuming less than 40 watts of power. These innovations improve data processing for mobile edge computing, AI workloads, and network applications.
