ZyXEL Communications launches 10G switches and gigabit switches for SMB market

Telecom Lead America: Targeting the SMB market, ZyXEL
Communications has launched a new series of web managed 24 and 48 port 10G
switches (XGS1910) and gigabit switches (GS1910).

The web-based series offers high throughput and
sophisticated features like network performance and security management.

SMBs will benefit as they demand for cloud-based services
and applications like VoIP, video streaming, teleconferencing and surveillance
is driving the need for networks with higher speeds.

ZyXEL’s XGS1910 and GS1910 switches deliver necessary
gigabit bandwidth to desktops for provisioning all these applications.

The newly launched series include 24 and 48 port 10G Web
smart switches (XGS1910-24/48), 24 and 48 port gigabit Web smart switches with
high power PoE (GS1910-24HP / 48HP) and without high power (GS1910-24 / 48).

Steven Joe, executive vice president of channel business
for Americas at ZyXEL, said ZyXEL’s switches deliver a cost and performance
breakthrough to small and medium-size businesses, as well as the education and
hospitality markets.

The XGS1910-24 (48) switch comes with 2 (4) enhanced
small form-factor SFP+ ports for 10G uplinks and / or stacking. This
cost-saving feature eliminates the need for additional modules for 10G support.
The HP designation for the GS1910-24HP / 48HP represents High Powered for 30W
power IEEE 802.3at feature support.

These HP switches can power devices such as motorized IP
cameras with pan / tilt / zoom functions that use more than 15.4W. ZyXEL HP
switches are backward compatible with 802.3af PoE standard devices as well.
