Wavelink announced the availability of a new version of
its mobile device management and wireless infrastructure management software.
Wavelink Avalanche 5.2 provides a comprehensive,
vendor-agnostic management solution for the wireless enterprise with
enhancements to the feature set and even deeper support for multi-tenancy to
support hosted solutions including software-as-a-service (SaaS) and managed
services.
New capabilities in Avalanche 5.2 provide further
sophistication in terms of reporting, organizing devices, security,
location-based services and two-way messaging between an administrator and
device user.
Architecture changes provide the path for better
integration with smartphone and tablet support, Avalanche Managed Services and
Avalanche On Demand.
“With this version of Avalanche, we are taking the
most comprehensive, fully-featured mobile device management solution and
providing enhancements for ease of use as well as more advanced location and
permission management within the product,” said Peter Cannon, senior
product manager for Wavelink.
No matter the combination of rugged devices, smartphones,
tablets, wireless access points or other wireless devices, Avalanche enables
organizations to manage them through a central console to reduce costs and improve
productivity.
Wavelink Avalanche 5.2 also adds support for new
firmware and devices including Aruba 3000 series devices, various Aruba APs and
Motorola AP650.
Internationalization of the product allows the web-based
administration console to be localized into the languages needed by customers
around the world.
Wavelink Avalanche provides centralized configuration,
deployment and management of mobile devices and wireless infrastructure that
works seamlessly across local and wide area networks.
It improves the productivity of mobile workers, increases
network security and reduces the total cost associated with owning and managing
mobile devices and peripherals.
