Wavefront joins hands with Anritsu to lower LTE costs in Canada

Telecom Lead America: Wavefront, Canada’s Centre of Excellence for Wireless Commercialization and Research, and Anritsu Electronics have joined hands to lower the costs and increase availability of LTE / 4G development and testing for SMEs, device manufacturers and MVNOs in Canada.

The LTE pre-screen testing capabilities available as part of this partnership offer a turnkey approach to quality assurance and certification of the test scripts for LTE applications prior to their submission to a mobile carrier.

They will conduct an online webinar series showcasing Anritsu Electronics-developed test solutions to help the device manufacturer, carrier and MVNO sectors.

They will also develop a pre-screen testing service offering turnkey approaches to certification of test scripts and carrier submission.

The joint initiative will ensure access to Anritsu Electronics LTE Layer 1, 2 and 3 pre-screen testing equipment, including the MD8430A Signaling Tester with Rapid Test Designer (RTD), MD8470A Signaling Tester, and MD8475A Signaling Tester.

“In partnership with Anritsu, we are pleased to establish the country’s first LTE Layer 1, 2 and 3 pre-screen testing facility,” said Wavefront President and CEO, James Maynard.

This agreement provides wireless SMEs with streamlined access to critical time-compression and quality assurance testing equipment previously not available in Canada.

“Anritsu has been at the forefront of LTE technology and has designed leading-edge test solutions to help in the development and deployment of LTE networks and devices. Our partnership with Wavefront is part of our commitment to ensure the acceleration and enablement of the burgeoning wireless device market in Canada and their successful commercialization for the global LTE/M2M market,” said Tony Parades, general manager, Anritsu Canada.

Wavefront products and services are available to wireless and non-wireless companies looking to leverage mobile technology. They include a suite of accelerated commercialization and mentorship programs, international market linkages, state of the art wireless product development and testing infrastructure, and wireless training programs and events.
