Vodafone deploys 96 3G towers at Agartala in Tripura

Telecom network operator Vodafone India has made investment to deploy 96 new 3G towers to set up its own 3G network at Agartala in Tripura.

The telecom company started deploying its own telecom network after buying the 2100 Mhz 3G spectrum for Assam and North East circle in March 2015.

Vodafone India has more than 4.8 million customers in Assam & North East Circle with 40 percent being data users.

Alok Verma, business head – Assam & North East, Vodafone India said: “Our aim is to accelerate mobile internet adoption through penetration, consumption and value addition.”

Vodafone’s own 3G network has now covered Jorhat, Guwahati, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Nagaon, Digboi, Tinsukia, Bongaigoan, North Lakhimpur, Barpeta  Goalpara & Silchar in Assam; Itanagar, Bomdila, Tawang, Along, Basar, Bhalukpong, Dirang, Changlang, Palin & Seppa in Arunachal Pradesh; Kohima & Dimapur in Nagaland; and Jowai, Nongpoh, Tura & Shillong in Meghalaya and Aizawl in Mizoram.
