United States Tennis Association signs deal with CommerceTel to manage text messaging

Telecom Lead America: The United States Tennis
Association (USTA) has signed a three-year agreement with CommerceTel to manage
text messaging tactics such as voting, alerts, special offers, and in-venue
activations.

USTA will be leveraging CommerceTel’s C4 and Txtstation
Pro web-based platforms. The association will be equipped to offer HD-quality
graphics and animations on in-venue digital boards to engage their fans.

Tennis fans will be able to text their votes, answers,
pictures, or other messages to a short SMS code and have the results appear
live on the screen in real-time.

“We’re very excited to be chosen to enhance mobile
engagement with the world’s leading tennis organization. Our platform will
allow the USTA to enhance the fan experience at events as well as better
communicate with its membership through the tremendous opportunities mobile
capabilities provide,” said Michael Falato, vice president of Sales &
Business Development of CommerceTel’s Txtstation division.

In addition to in-venue promotions, CommerceTel will
provide 250 real-time score and event text message alert options for the US
Open, as well as support USTA national conferences with text message specific
presentation and evaluation needs.

Key USTA events planned to use this technology in 2012
include the US Open, the Emirates Airline US Open Series, and US Davis Cup/US
Fed Cup teams.

CommerceTel said C4 is a cloud-based solution providing
broad mobile communications and extensive CRM features. It is integrated with
multiple tier-one PSTN/ IP carriers and micropayment processing facilities as
well as with carrier premium SMS billing systems.

Customers include CNN, Disney, Sony Pictures, AT&T,
Verizon, USA Network, numerous professional sports franchises, the Golf
Channel, and NBC Universal.
