Tech Mahindra posts global revenue of $281 million for Q1 FY13

Telecom Lead India: Tech Mahindra has posted global
revenue of $281 million for the first quarter ended on June 30, 2012 with a
flat sequential growth.


The company’s operating profits (EBIDTA) increased 26
percent sequentially at $60 million.


TechM’s revenue the Middle East and North African (MENA)
region observed healthy growth surge.


The company is aggressively expanding its solution
footprint across various segments, including applications management, network
services, and security, Value Added Services (VAS), Infrastructure Management
Services (IMS) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) in the region.


The company said that the IT spending behavior of telecom
companies in the Middle East has turned heavily onto the turnkey outsourcing of
applications in the BSS/OSS space.


TechM said its revenue for the first quarter increased
due to surging demand of IT Applications, Applications Outsourcing, System Integration
and Managed Services in the region. However, analytics, cloud and security is
slowly picking up its pace in the Middle-Eastern market.


Speaking on the global results, Girish Bhat, vice
president of MEA Sales & Operations at Tech Mahindra said that the growth
in the region demonstrates TechM’s unique specialization across the
telecommunications market.


For the remaining quarters of FY13, the company said that
its core focus for the Middle East region and the UAE will be on the
telecommunications market.


The company will be focusing on key markets, including
Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia.


The company has managed to maintain strong relationships
with leading operators in the Middle East region.


With the takeover of Mahindra Satyam, the company will
have the strategic advantage of offering solutions that give our customers a
full 360 degree view of their businesses.


During the quarter, the company was selected by a leading
European Telco for End-to-End services to be delivered via a global test
factory.


Additionally, the company grabbed an End-to-End
application production support contract with one of the leading US Telco.


The company is also providing   provide Network
Platform and Application development to a leading European Telco.


The company has also grabbed a System Integration project
by a leading Middle East Telco to implement their Mobile Number Portability
(MNP) solution.
