T-Mobile offers free service to customers who join MetroPCS

T-Mobile US, the third largest wireless operator in the U.S., has kicked off another offer to attract mobile phone customers from its rival networks of Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.

The new offer from MetroPCS, the prepaid brand, gives two months of unlimited service for free to new customers who bring their number to MetroPCS. This is to ensure that customers are getting enough time to check out the network quality.

New customers can also get a new phone from brands such as Samsung, LG and Motorola — for a limited time.

New customers can select the $50 Unlimited LTE plan, the $60 plan with Unlimited LTE + 10GB of hotspot data, or 4 lines of Unlimited LTE for $100. After two months of unlimited service with a timely second month payment, customers can get a $100 prepaid Mastercard.

T-Mobile said there will be an additional $10 activation fee / line and taxes. On all plans, if congested, the fraction of customers using >35GB/mo. may notice reduced speeds due to prioritization. Video streams at 480p. There will be no tethering on $50 rate plan.
