At LTE Asia 2011 in Singapore, September 6 – 7, mobile
broadband gateway developer Stoke launched a new entity in Singapore to support
its growing engagements in the region.
During the show, Stoke will also present insights and
solutions on the topic of securing and controlling high volume, high growth
traffic over LTE networks.
Supporting its ongoing growth, Stoke will formally launch
a new subsidiary office in Singapore and introduce senior sales director for
South East Asia, Wing Hong Chan, who will lead Stoke’s engagements with mobile
broadband operators in the region. Wing Hong Chan joined Stoke on August 22.
Before joining Stoke, Wing worked for Redback/Ericsson.
He previously held senior sales positions at Foundry and Datacraft/Dimension
Data, and brings to Stoke an exceptional level of experience in working with
the major carriers and partners in the region. Wing is based in Singapore and
is fluent in Mandarin, Malay and English.
Stoke is one of the most exciting players in our
industry, with a modern and highly effective approach to helping mobile
broadband operators manage their most important issues,” said Wing Hong Chan.
The massive growth in demand for mobile data opens the door for innovative
companies such as Stoke, and I am very pleased to be part of the organization.”
With more standalone eNodeB secure aggregation gateways
shipped than any other vendor, Stoke is in the volume leadership position in
this EPC device category.
The security concerns associated with the use of all-IP
in LTE networks, combined with sharp growth in LTE wireless services, are
challenging the scaling and performance capabilities of even the most
cutting-edge networks.
Spectrum constraints require the use of a variety of
offload and backhaul technologies, which must be aggregated, integrated and
secured as they pass from the Radio Access Network to the operator core. With
voice and video the most widely used LTE applications, performance quality must
be balanced with securing users’ data.
At the show, Stoke will showcase its new generation LTE
technology, including its market-leading LTE security aggregation gateways
which are designed to solve problems of rapid, unpredictable growth while
securing traffic over the hybrid LTE network.
Recently, Stoke has named
Dave Williams as chief technology officer. Williams moves from Comcast where he
was senior vice president of Wireless Technology.
Prior to Comcast he was CTO at O2 Telefonica Europe.
Williams’ breadth of experience at previous companies provides an invaluable
new resource to Stoke given the nature and pace of change in the mobile
broadband industry.
