Rohde & Schwarz revenue grows 7% to 2.04 bn euros

Rohde & Schwarz reported revenue of 2.04 billion euros (+6.7 percent) during 2017-2018 fiscal year.

Incoming orders increased 7.4 percent to 2.21 billion euros, the Munich, Germany-based technology group, which has presence in areas such as communications, information and security, said on Monday.

The test and measurement company said the number of employees worldwide grew to 11,500 by June 30, 2018 from around 10,500.

The company’s decision to focus on key, high-growth markets of the future with its four strategic pillars – test and measurement, broadcast and media, aerospace | defense | security, and networks and cyber-security – is paying off.

Rohde & Schwarz is focusing on providing test and measurement solutions for mobile and wireless applications in future technologies such as the internet of things (IoT) and the fifth generation of mobile communications (5G).

Rohde & Schwarz aims to derive benefits from the 5G testing solutions that will also aid in autonomous vehicles. Rohde & Schwarz is already offering test and measurement solutions, including test solutions for V2X, radar, eCall, connectivity and automotive buses – targeting the automotive industry.

Rohde & Schwarz, which supplies body scanners, is set to define the market standard for passenger screening at many German and international airports.
