Research In Motion organizes BBM Hackathon event in Gurgaon


By Telecom Lead Team: Research In Motion (RIM), the
makers of BlackBerry smartphone, announced it is organizing a two day BBM
Hackathon Event in Gurgaon. The event is expected to be attended by more than
45 developers who will create BBM connected applications with support from the
BlackBerry developer relations team.


A company press release said the BBM Hackathon provides
an exciting opportunity for developers to create intuitive and networked
applications on BBM, a mobile social networking platform.


Developers will get a chance to interact with BlackBerry
platform experts and network with other developers while absorbing new ideas
for integrating social elements into their apps. It will give participants
access to members of the BBM development and product teams who can help
attendees understand how to integrate the BBM Social Platform into their
application.


Attendees will also be able to learn different techniques
to integrate viral/social aspects into their application and get answers for their
questions from experts.


Each of the participants will receive a BlackBerry
smartphone and the developer with the winning app will be awarded a BlackBerry
PlayBook. The winner of the Hackathon will also have their application
available on BlackBerry App World.
